4 AI Trends To Watch Out For In 2022

December 2, 2021

Experts have analyzed some key AI trends to watch out for in 2022, including AI in gastronomy, better hiring practices, the growth of AI ethics as a strategic imperative, and finally the growth of neural networks that help robots think.

Taking a closer look at the trends, experts believe AI could change the way humans conceptualize, create and enjoy food.

For the food and beverage industry, AI will help foster new opportunities, including the use of AI to enhance the imagination of chefs and culinary experts, enhance sensory experiences in cooking and eating, develop healthier and more sustainable recipes, and automate and scale food preparation.

On the trend of AI ethics as a strategic imperative, experts said that almost one in four people’s demand for the need to regulate and ensure AI accountability will create space for ethical AI.

As Alice Xiang, head of AI Ethics Office (Sony Group Corporation) and senior research scientist puts it, “Companies that have integrated ethical AI into their processes from the start will realize the most success as the industry places more and more importance on these issues.”

The fourth trend will focus on the growth of neural networks that help robots think. Peter Stone, executive director of Sony AI America, commented on this trend: “I’m optimistic that research in this direction will be particularly useful for advances in general-purpose service robots capable of robust perception, communication in natural language, task and motion planning for object manipulation, and natural human-robot interaction.”
