Ransomware Gang Will Leak Data If Victims Contact Police

September 9, 2021

The Ragnar Locker ransomware group warned that it will publish the data of victims who seek help from law enforcement and investigative agencies.

The group has previously targeted prominent companies and demanded large ransom payments.

The note on the group’s data leak website states: “So from this moment we warn all our clients, if you will hire any recovery company for negotiations or if you will send requests to the police/FBI/investigators, we will consider this as a hostile intent and we will initiate the publication of whole compromised data immediately.”

The threat also applies to victims who contact data recovery experts to try decryption, and in case they refuse to listen to the warning of the group, the ransomware gang said that they will not hesitate to publish the full data of the victim on their website.
