October 1, 2021

Google has released Chrome 94.0.4606.71 update to fix four security flaws including two zero-day vulnerabilities in the wild exploited by attackers.

The two zero-days include the “Information leak in core” tracked as CVE-2021-37976 and assigned a medium severity rating. The second zero-day, a user after free bug found in the Chrome V8 JavaScript engine tracked as CVE-2021-37975 has a high severity rating.

While the first zero-day was discovered by Clément Lecigne of Google TAG on September 21, 2021, the second zero-day was revealed on September 24 by an anonymous researcher.

The update released to fix the flaws will be available to all users in the coming days and for those who are interested in installing the update immediately, they can go to the Chrome menu, click Help and then click About Google Chrome, after which the browser will begin to perform the update.

The update, which fixes these two vulnerabilities, means that Google has patched 13 zero-day vulnerabilities in the Chrome web browser since the beginning of 2021.
