Amazon Set To Shut Down Alex.com

December 9, 2021

Amazon recently announced it is shutting down Alexa.com, a global website ranking system and competitor analysis tool

According to Amazon, the 25-year-old project will retire in May 2022. Now, Amazon does not offer a new subscription to the services, although existing subscribers will still have access to Amazon data and SEO tools.

However, it is important to note that existing subscriptions will only remain active until May 1, 2022. After May 2022 access will be revoked.

Announcing the new development, Amazon said: ‘Twenty-five years ago, we founded Alexa Internet. After two decades of helping you find, reach, and convert your digital audience, we’ve made the difficult decision to retire Alexa.com on May 1, 2022. Thank you for making us your go-to resource for content research, competitive analysis, keyword research, and so much more.”

Alexa.com is widely known for its global ranking system, which uses web traffic data to list the most popular internet companies. Alexa.com also offers a full set of SEO and analysis tools with paid subscriptions.
