Cox Communications aka Cox Cable, a digital cable and telecommunications provider that provides Internet, television and telephone services in the United States, has been hit by a data breach after a hacker gave a support agent access to customers’ personal information.

The data breach exposed the following sensitive information for some customers:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Telephone number
  • Cox account number
  • Cox.net email address
  • Username
  • PIN code
  • Account security questions and answers
