Data storage giant Western Digital has been dealing with a “network security incident” after detecting a break-in by an unauthorized third party into its internal systems.
The company has confirmed that hackers exfiltrated data from its systems during the attack that occurred on March 26, 2023, was taking steps to secure its business operations, but did not confirm the nature of the incident or revealed how it was compromised. However, some of its customer-facing services have been affected.
Western Digital has implemented incident response efforts and initiated an investigation with the assistance of leading outside security and forensic experts.
