Google Cloud and CIS partner to enhance cybersecurity

Google Cloud and the Center for Internet Security (CIS) have joined forces to create the Google Cloud Alliance, with the objective of improving cybersecurity in the public sector.

According to a joint statement, Google Cloud will provide its Google Cybersecurity Action Team members and services, including knowledge from its Threat Horizons reports and Mandiant web intelligence division, to contribute to “securing the broader technology ecosystem, particularly with regards to cloud posture and overall cybersecurity practices.”

The Multi-State and Elections Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Centers are run by the CIS, which provides support for the ever-changing cybersecurity requirements of state, local, tribal, and territorial government organizations. This is why the partnership is thrilling for the CIS, as it combines two strong cybersecurity viewpoints, according to Gina Chapman, the executive vice president of sales and business services at CIS.

Chapman also expressed her excitement stating that, the partnership between CIS and Google is particularly exciting because it brings together two powerful perspectives on cybersecurity and applies them to the highly targeted and historically underserved community of U.S. State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial government organizations.
