Twitch Will Ban Users for Offline Misconduct

Twitch, a live-streaming platform for gamers and other lifestyle producers that helps build communities around a shared and streamable interest, will begin taking disciplinary action for misconduct that takes place either offline or even on other platforms.

The company can ban people for misconduct off-duty under its expanded harassment and conduct policies.

These acts include deadly violence and violent extremism, terrorism, explicit or credible threats of mass violence, sexual exploitation of minors, sexual assault and abuse, threats against a personal Twitch event or the company and its employees.

The platform works with an independent law firm to respond to reports of misconduct outside of the platform. It has also set up its own email address for reporting such actions – osit@twitch. tv. Twitch is committed to complete confidentiality in dealing with concerns sent via the email address to only a few Twitch employees and the law firm charged with investigating the matter. Users who submit fake reports will be excluded from the Platform.
