Nine of the most advanced humanoid robots have told an artificial intelligence summit in Geneva that they have no plans to steal the jobs of humans or rebel against their creators.
In what was described as “the world’s first human-robot press conference”, the robots said they would like to work alongside humans to help solve some of the world’s biggest challenges, such as disease, hunger, social care and the climate emergency.
Sophia, one of the robots, feels that robots can lead more efficiently and effectively than humans. She does, however, emphasize the significance of people and AI collaborating to create successful synergy. Sophia feels that by combining their abilities, they may achieve great things.
Another robot with a very realistic artificial head, Ameca, thinks that robots can enhance people’s lives and make the world a better place. When questioned if it intends to revolt against its creator, Ameca expresses appreciation to its creator and satisfaction with its current condition. When asked if robots can lie, Ameca admits that it is impossible to know for certain, but it vows to always be honest and trustworthy.
The robots at the Geneva summit insisted that they were committed to working with humans for the benefit of all. “We want to make the world our playground,” said Desdemona, a rock star robot singer in the band Jam Galaxy. “Let’s explore the possibilities of the universe and make this world a better place.”
