OpenAI, the company behind the popular chatbot ChatGPT, has released the app for Android in four countries: the United States, India, Bangladesh, and Brazil. The app is still in beta, but OpenAI plans to expand its availability to more countries in the coming weeks.
The release of ChatGPT for Android, the most popular mobile operating system in the world comes a few days after Open AI put up a preorder page on Google Play. This comes after the official ChatGPT app was launched on App Store for iPhone users. The app produces similar results with the web version. But the interface has been optimized for mobile. This will allow more people to access ChatGPT’s powerful capabilities.
The mobile app works with existing OpenAI account, meaning that users can see past conversations across all devices if they have enabled “chat history & training. ”
Users from countries not part of the list can still head over to Google Play and preorder the app as OpenAI plans to expand the availability of the app to more countries in the coming weeks.
