About Tech News Day

When IT World Canada and its related publications disappeared something was lost. We lost tech news that was aimed at those who work with technology and those who need to know about the use of technology in our business and personal lives. We lost t stories that were written about issues in Canada and the world but with a Canadian sensibility – less hype and more practicality.

We always said we presented Canada to the world but told stories from around the world.

That tradition lives on in Tech Newsday.  It’s a long story about why we can’t use the name IT World Canada, but let’s just say that in this world there are those who don’t keep their agreements and try to use their size and might to crush Canadian companies. We are just another in a long line. But as Canada put elbows up, so did we. We’re back – as Tech Newsday and it’s associated podcasts.

Tech News Day is a daily publication featuring key daily news stories about technology and how it affects businesses.

We know that you are busy and that there’s a lot of information coming at you. We try to pick the stories that are most relevant and give you a quick but hopefully accurate and informative story.

Our selection is done by industry professionals – executives like you who pick the top stories for that day. Our writers summarize these to give you a quick summary and the key takeaways.

We provide daily stories on our two podcasts, Cybersecurity Today and Hashtag Trending. These shows have daily news items to keep you up to date. And each podcast has a weekend show where we do a deeper dive into stories that are relevant to you.

Hashtag Trending and Cybersecurity today are available wherever you get your podcasts and on your smart speakers.

And starting in June, we will return back to our daily and weekly newsletters. To cover off Canadian anti-span legislation, we will have to re-enrol you. See our Privacy Statement so that you can rest easy as you subscribe.

We hope you find this to be useful to you in keeping up to date in these challenging times. We love your input and opinions. You can use our feedback widget to rate individual stories or you can write us at .

Privacy Statement

We value your privacy. Really.

If you subscribe, we ask for the minimum of information necessary. We do want to know a little bit about you, but we want what’s on your business card or the basics of your LinkedIn page and that’s it.

Our site doesn’t collect information about you and if that should change we’ll let you know and there will be a darn good reason for it.

What will we do with your information? We’ll obviously send you a newsletter – that’s the main reason we collect info on you.

We may invite you to a meeting that could be sponsored – if we do that, we promise we’ll do everything we can to ensure its content and not commercials. We don’t want to waste your time. But realistically, we do need sponsors, but when we are doing a meeting for a sponsor, we’ll be upfront with you and with them. You will know that this is sponsored. And you will know that we will never compromise our editorial integrity or waste your time with a glorified commercial.

If our head of content, a forty year IT veteran wouldn’t consider the event or content to be valuable, we won’t do it. Full stop.

We’ll NEVER sell your name to anyone.

We’ll do our absolute best to keep your data safe, but we aren’t idiots. No company or publication is hack proof. That’s why we only collect basic business card information. Nevertheless, if we are ever hacked, it will be a front page story.

That’s our privacy statement. If you have any questions or concerns, use the Contact Us form to let us know what you think.
