‘Born Digital’ Generation Not Interested Working Full-time In Offices

May 26, 2021

In a survey of more than 1,000 executives and 2,000 knowledge workers from 10 countries, Citrix Systems found that the “Born Digital” generation – people born after 1981 – is no longer interested in working full-time in offices.

The study looked at 1,250 millennials and 750 Gen-Zers.

According to the survey, 90% of the 2,000 respondents have no interest in returning to full-time work after the end of the pandemic.

More than half prefer a hybrid work model where they can work most or always from home, while 18% prefer a hybrid model where they work more from the office.

Since millennials and Gen-Zers make up the majority of the global workforce, the study includes an economic model that shows company’s expectations of corporations as they expect millennials and Gen-Zers to “deliver an extra $1.9 trillion in corporate profits.”
