Upcoming USB-C 2.1 To Accommodate Power Output of 240 Watts

May 26, 2021

In an update released on USB-IF, the USB Implementers Forum stated that the new USB-C 2.1 specification will offer a 240-watt option called the Extended Power Range, which will allow it to absorb 240 watts of power.

The new USB-C 2.1 specification is equipped with other protocols such as hardware requirements, limitations, and interoperability with other technologies.

Its increased performance will also ensure that it works with a wider range of peripherals such as large 4k monitors, gaming laptops, printers, and much more.
