Doom Can Work On An Ikea Smart Light Bulb

June 15, 2021

An Ikea Trådfri GU10 345 RGB LED lamp can now run a modified version of the classic 1993 shooter, Doom.

Unlike pas Doom hack candidates such as Nintendo Games & Watch, the MacBook Pro Touch Bar or a Tl computer, the Trådfri bulb has no buttons or display.

The latest hack features an MGM210L RF board that powers the “smart” part of the bulb and a copy of Doom that runs on its paltry 108 kB of RAM.

In addition, its processor has enough power not only to run Doom but also to run the modified version pretty well.
