Accenture has announced plans to invest $3 billion over the next three years to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) workforce. The company says the investment is necessary to help clients adopt and scale AI, which it believes will give them a competitive advantage.

Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, stressed the necessity of investing in AI. She believes that businesses who adopt and scale AI technology will gain a competitive advantage. Sweet thinks AI to be mature, despite worries about copyright and ethics, as well as suggested restrictions. Sweet emphasized the broad interest in AI and promised customers that the investment in Data & AI expertise will assist them in moving from curiosity to responsible application.

Accenture also stated that it intends to significantly grow its AI workforce, aiming to reach 80,000 workers within three years. This will be accomplished by employing fresh AI expertise, acquiring AI businesses, and offering AI training to current staff. Accenture will launch several new initiatives to help clients integrate AI into their offerings, including an AI Navigator for Enterprise platform, a Center for Advanced AI for research and development, and AI accelerator programs tailored to 19 industries.
