Adobe unveils image-generation tech

October 11, 2023

Adobe has announced the launch of a cutting-edge image-generation technology set to empower creative professionals and revolutionize the creative industry.

The technology is reportedly in response to the competition posed by innovative startups such as Midjourney and Stable Diffusion.

One of the features of this technology is “Generative Match.” Like its predecessor, this tool enables users to craft images from mere text inputs. However, what sets it apart is the ability for users to draw inspiration from as few as 10 to 20 uploaded images, providing a foundation for the generated artwork.

Ely Greenfield, Adobe’s chief technology officer for digital media, envisions a future where major brands can effortlessly upload a handful of product or character photos and harness generative technology to produce a multitude of images for diverse purposes, ranging from websites to social media campaigns and print advertisements.

Greenfield emphasized that this innovation will streamline the creative process, reducing the manual effort required for photography, while simultaneously providing a bridge between traditional creative work and generative technology.

In addition to this image-generation tool, Adobe also introduced tools for generating vector graphics, an essential component for logos and product labels, as well as templates for brochures and other design elements.

The company has assured its customers that the new image generation tools will not result in changes to previously disclosed pricing, providing further value to its vast user base.
