Amazon and Apple set to return to advertise on Twitter

December 5, 2022

According to reports, e-commerce juggernauts Amazon and Apple plan to resume advertising on Twitter, with Amazon spending around $100 million per year. The confirmation will be made available following some security updates to the social media platform.

Advertisers have previously expressed concern about Twitter following the loss of employees responsible for content moderation, as well as incidents of spammers impersonating major public companies following Musk’s takeover, which resulted in a massive drop in revenue.

The return of Amazon and Apple to Twitter advertising comes after Twitter offered incentives to advertising agencies last week to increase their spending on the platform. A US advertiser who typically spends $500,000 in incremental spending will now be eligible for a “100% value add,” with a $1 million cap, according to a mail from Twitter.

While During a Twitter Spaces talk, Musk declared that Apple is the largest Twitter advertiser and has also “fully resumed” advertising on Twitter. Elon Musk also put out a tweet thanking advertisers for returning to Twitter. In his post he said, “Just a note to thank advertisers for returning to Twitter.”
