Apple addresses iPhone 15 Pro heating concerns

October 2, 2023

Apple has acknowledged that the new iPhone 15 Pro is overheating, and has identified a few issues that are causing the problem. These include a bug in the iOS 17 software, some recent updates to third-party apps, and the new titanium shell design.

Apple is working on fixes for all of these issues, and has said that an upcoming iOS update will address the software bug. The company has also said that it is working with app developers to fix the third-party apps that are causing the problem.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo proposes a theory, suggesting that the root of the issue may lie in the iPhone’s thermal system design. Kuo hints at potential software-based solutions but cautions that such remedies might necessitate a reduction in processor performance, potentially affecting product shipments.
