Apple Pauses All Product Sales In Russia

March 2, 2022

Apple announced on Tuesday that it has halted all product sales in Russia in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Some of the measures taken by the company in response to the current unrest in Ukraine include stopping all exports into its sales channels in the country. Others include restricting Apple Pay and other services.

Apple has also made sure that Russian state media, RT News and Sputnik can no longer be downloaded from the Apple Store outside Russia.

“We are deeply concerned about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and stand with all those affected by the violence, supporting humanitarian efforts, helping with the unfolding refugee crisis and doing everything we can to support our teams in the region,” Apple said in a statement.

Apple’s move will therefore widen the list of sanctions imposed on Russia by technology companies, including Meta, Google, and others.
