Apple to fix wobbly iPhone 14 camera

September 20, 2022

Apple confirmed that users of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max had problems taking photos with popular apps such as Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat. When users try to use the camera with these apps, their phones start shaking, rattling and even making physical noises uncontrollably, in addition to other problems with iMessage and FaceTime.

“We’re aware of the issue and a fix will be released next week,” an Apple spokesperson said.

Despite its remarkable innovative capabilities and technological advances, such as a powerful new display and pro-level camera upgrades, the iPhone 14 Pro is said to have camera issues that could cause hardware damage when using popular photo apps such as Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat.

The iPhone 14 Pro’s camera wobbles when using these third-party apps, and the physical camera module itself makes a grinding/rattling noise. It’s almost certainly some kind of software flaw. These third-party apps were most likely not prepared for the camera changes of the iPhone 14 Pro. It might have something to do with optical image stabilization, which would explain the rattling noises of the camera module itself.

This is not the first time Apple has released a firmware update for the new devices. iOS 16.0. 1 has already been released to fix a number of issues with the new iPhones, including data migration, authorization and photo issues. Apple also addressed the fact that photos on the iPhone 14 Pro Max can appear soft in landscape format among other things.
