Apple Urges iOS 12 Users To Install An Emergency Update

June 18, 2021

Users of iPhones or iPads still running iOS 12 are being urged by Apple to install an emergency update on their devices as soon as possible.

The latest update contains three security updates, two of which are potentially exploitable.

iOS 12.5.4 is available for the following devices:

  • iPhone 5s
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPad Air
  • iPad mini 2
  • iPad mini 3
  • iPod touch (6th generation)

Tap Settings > General and then Software Update to see which iOS version is running on your device.

Devices that are compatible with later versions must upgrade to the latest version of iOS 14 or iPadOS 14.

Several high-profile security companies have struck iPhone and iPad in recent months, and installing these updates is the first and best line of defense against attacks.
