Apple’s iOS 15 Beta 3 Needs Less Available Storage To Install

July 15, 2021

Yesterday Apple unveiled its third beta version of its latest software for developers.

Apple claims that the updates now require less available space to be installed, which could solve a major problem for many users.

There are not many details about what has been modified or how this will work, as some updates actually appear in large files, but the release notes claim that system updates can now be installed on the iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, even if “less than 500 MB of storage is available.”

For many users, especially owners of the Apple Watch Series 3, this could be excellent news.

Earlier this year, several users complained that it was extremely difficult to install watchOS updates on the Series 3 because the GPS model only had 8GB of internal storage.

Apple even urged Series 3 users to fix their Apple Watch to install software updates.

Both iOS 15 and watchOS 8 are expected to be released later this year.

Users can now install the beta versions via the Apple beta software program.
