Arizona Residents Can Now Add Driver’s Licenses, State IDs To Apple Wallet

Arizona on Wednesday stated that residents can now add their driver’s license or state ID to Apple Wallet.

This will be used as a valid means of identification are certain checkpoints at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

It is however important that residents carry their physical ID with them since the technology is still new and growing. Also, residents will be required to tender their physical ID In other situations including law enforcement interactions.

Users interested in adding their ID to Wallet can do so by clicking on Wallet on their iPhone. After that, they are expected to tap the + button at the top of the screen in Wallet and select “Driver’s License or State ID.”

They will be asked to take a selfie and scan the front and back of their ID card. This will be followed by a series of facial and head movements step. Afterward, the images are sent to the state for verification.

The feature is available on iPhone 8 or later running iOS 15.4 and Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 8.4 or later.
