Atlassian unveils new features for its collaboration products

September 30, 2022

Atlassian, a provider of collaboration and application development software, has implemented a number of major product updates, including new unified administration controls, smart links and a subscription service for Trello, Confluence and Jira Work Management.

Atlas, the new directory service for teamwork announced in April, will also be widely available from next month, according to the company.

According to Erika Trautman, Atlassian’s head of product for work management, many companies are looking for a one-size-fits-all solution for work management to deal with the resulting chaos. In an ideal world, such a solution would include both administrative controls and a single set of workflows.

Trautman believes, however, that this is a ridiculous idea, and that most solutions are ultimately rigid. As a result, Trautman says, teams simply go out and use whatever they can find, leaving businesses in the lurch to deal with the same sprawl.

Instead of focusing on one specific work management tool to control them all, Trautman explained that a system that allows teams to use the right toolkits is all that is needed. However, Atlassian introduced a Unified Admin Experience that integrates user and access management across its cloud product portfolio, including simplifying audits, compliance and security checks, and streamlining administrative processes to eliminate redundant steps.

These upgrades are accompanied by a new subscription bundle called Together, which combines Trello, Confluence, Jira Work Management and Atlas for $11 per month per user for enterprises with more than 5,000 employees.
