AWS Rejects Downdetector’s Outage Report

AWS has rejected Downdetector’s outage report on its services, stating that no problems were reported on its official AWS status page. Amazon says reports of the service’s outage are inaccurate.

According to Downdetector, the reported AWS outage problems began at about 15: 00 GMT/10: 00 ET on Tuesday.

The inaccuracy of Downdetector’s reports was further confirmed after the reports peaked at only 800 before slipping to 300, underscoring a relatively small amount for a major outage affecting several regions.

In addition to AWS, companies that suffered outages in recent hours and confirmed it includes Slack, GitHub, and Peloton.

Despite reviewing the outage reports, Slack, an AWS customer did not mention AWS in relation to their service outage.
