Audio equipment company, Bose in a letter to the attorney general of New Hampshire, John Formella revealed that it was hit by a ransomware attack on March 7.

After a careful investigation, the company, along with some forensic analysts, concluded that the cyberattackers gained access to the administration’s internal personnel files.

The files included the social security numbers, addresses, and compensation information of some of its employees, including six who live in New Hampshire.

While the letter does not specify what type of ransomware was used or the identity of the group behind the attack, Bose explained that the company could not confirm whether the attackers have taken files or information from the system.

Following the attack, IdentityForce offered free identity protection services to the six affected employees, who are based in New Hampshire, for 12 months.

A letter dated May 19 also urged those affected to “remain vigilant” while monitoring their accounts.
