The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced it will mandate vaccinations for attendees at the CES technology conference, which is due to take place on January 5, 2022.

Conference attendees must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to entry, and in cases where some are not vaccinated, the CTA will alternatively accept proof of a positive antibody test, while following other local guidelines and regulations put in place.

While the association informed the public that the event will be broadcast both virtually and physically, CTA CEO, Gary Shapiro pointed out that the association’s latest move to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination is aimed at using its quota to encourage people to get vaccinated against the virus.

Shapiro said of the announcement: ‘We are taking on our responsibility by requiring proof of vaccination to attend CES 2022 in Las Vegas.”
