Collaboration Applications Market Grows 28.4% Year-Over-Year in 2021

August 18, 2022

According to a new forecast from International Data Corporation (IDC), the collaboration applications market grew 28.4% year-on-year to US$29.1 billion in 2021.

Collaboration applications offer many benefits, including the ability to let people work from anywhere, create a more productive and inclusive working community, and serve as a key to digital transformation.

Growth is expected to continue, but will be driven by a number of factors, including expanding collaboration to include more people, purchasing and integrating multiple solutions to better meet business needs, as well as price increases and/or performance improvements.

The growth spans all collaboration markets and sub-markets identified by IDC, including team collaboration applications, conferencing, virtual events, enterprise communities and email applications.

IDC has identified some predictions, one of which involve the continued growth of partners and customers who want to work with any given business.

Enterprise communities will be a market to watch, virtual events will remain a significant opportunity to engage audiences that may not be able to travel. A new era of fully connected enterprise, augmented with collaboration and intelligence.
