D-Wave Deploy Latest Quantum Computer In California

May 13, 2022

D-Wave Systems on Thursday announced a physical setup of its latest quantum computer at the University of Southern California.

Prior to the deployment, U.S. researchers and organizations could only access the quantum computer called the Advantage system online. The deployment means a quantum computer will now be physically available in the United States.

D-Wave’s Advantage system was launched in September 2020. Murray Thom, vice president of product management at D-Wave, says the quantum computing machine has been in operation in Canada and Germany.

The Advantage system is the first and only quantum computer for enterprises. The 5th generation quantum computer was built from the ground up with a new processor architecture with 5,000 qubits and 15-way qubit connectivity.

Advantage System has been completely redesigned to be faster, more efficient, and solve larger and more complex problems at a faster pace. It enables users to develop and operate quantum applications in the real world and large-scale production in the cloud.
