Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of Google’s AI division DeepMind, has predicted that everyone will have their own AI-powered personal assistant within the next five years.
Suleyman, who is now the CEO of Inflection AI, a tech startup behind an AI chatbot called Pi, said that the technology will become cheaper and more widespread, making it accessible to everyone.
He believes that AI assistants will be able to “know you,” be “super smart,” and “understand your personal history.” They will be able to help people with their daily tasks, such as planning their day, prioritizing their time, and helping them to be more creative.
Suleyman also believes that AI assistants will eventually become like “chiefs of staff,” helping people to manage their information and make better decisions.
His predictions come as users are increasingly finding ways to integrate AI technologies into their lives. For example, OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot has been used to help people plan vacations, find apartments, and lose weight.
Suleyman is not the only tech leader who sees the potential of AI. Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, has said that AI is “as fundamental” as the creation of the internet. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has said that AI has “enormous potential” to “affect virtually everything we do.”
