Dollar Tree Appoints New CIO Amid Corporate Shake-up

July 26, 2022

Dollar Tree announced Thursday that Bobby Aflatooni has been named the company’s new CIO and will lead the company’s operations in North America.

Prior to his appointment at Dollar Tree, Aflatooni was CIO of Howard Hughes Corporation for three years.

Dollar Tree is an American multi-price-point chain of discount variety stores. The company operates 15,115 stores in 48 U.S. states and Canada.

Aflatooni’s appointment comes at a time when the company is undergoing a major leadership overhaul. Dollar Tree’s chairman and former CEO Bob Sasser left the company earlier this year. Chief Legal Officer William Old, Chief Operating Officer Thomas O’Boyle and Chief Strategy Officer David Jacobs also left the company.

Former Dollar General CEO Rick Dreiling was installed as the company’s executive chairman in March, and two former Dollar General executives John Flanigan and Larry Gatta, joined the company in May as Family Dollar’s chief supply chain officer and chief merchandising officer.

Together, the new executives will strive to simplify the company’s work streams and accelerate growth.
