EU antitrust chief Margrethe Vestager has confirmed that the U.S.-European Trade and Technology Council (TTC) will hold its second meeting in France between May 15 and 16.
According to Vestager, the forum established last year is important “for global leadership across a range of key issues.”
US Trade Representative Katherine Tai said the forum would address shared challenges.
The TTC was created last year for a number of reasons, including to improve transatlantic trade relations and help allied democracies compete better with China.
The TCC’s other objectives include creating a more unified approach to curbing the power of tech giants and setting standards and rules for the twenty-first century.
During the first meeting, which took place on September 29 in Pittsburgh, various issues were raised, including the global chip shortage.
Prominent attendees include U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Tai, EU trade chief Valdis Dombrovskis and EU antitrust chief Margrethe Vestager.
