Google Announces Switch To Android App Update

June 30, 2022

Google has announced a new update to its Switch to Android app for the iPhone.

The new update eliminates the need for a pixel phone to move data. Now, users can move their data from an iPhone to an Android device as long as the device runs Android 12 or higher.

Specifically, the app will move free apps, contacts, photos, videos, call history, music and messages from iPhone to Android.

Apple had already developed a similar app that makes it easy for Android users to switch to a new iPhone device.

Recently, Apple and WhatsApp announced a joint effort that will make it easier for users to transfer their WhatsApp account and conversation history from Android to iPhone using the Move to iOS app.

The latest update from Google means that the company is now on par with Apple’s technology, which makes it easy to move files from an Android device to an iPhone. There are still areas where files cannot be moved, particularly iPhones iMessage.
