Google’s video communications service, Google Meet is now limiting free users to one-hour group video calls.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company had enabled its users to make 24-hour free video calls with multiple people.

While the status of the meeting host determines the limit for video calls, free users can conduct one-on-one video chats for 24 hours and group calls with a maximum of 100 participants for a duration of 60 minutes.

After 55 minutes, users will receive a warning that the meeting will be terminated in the case of group calls.

Google Meet is slightly more generous for free users compared to Zoom, which limits its user’s call time to 40 minutes.
