How To Download The Windows 11 Insider Preview Build

June 29, 2021

With Windows 11 on the way and set to be available to all users in the fall, members of the Windows Insider Program can now download the first Insider Preview of Windows 11.

While the first version does not include every new feature that comes with the general release, it is important to note that beta versions such as the Windows 11 preview build tend to contain bugs, so users are advised not to download the beta version on their main device, but on a second computer.

For those who want to download this version, one of the simple steps is to make sure that you are running a licensed version of Windows 10 while ensuring that you are an administrator on the device, go to “Update & Security” and select “Windows Insider Program” after which you click on “Get Started.”

Under “Pick an account to get started,” users can select + to connect and continue with the Microsoft account they have signed in to.

Users then follow the instructions to select the experience and channel through which they want to receive Insider Preview builds through after which they review the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, click “confirm” and select “Restart Now.”
