Windows users can now extend their rollback to Windows 10 beyond the standard 10 days after a Windows 11 upgrade.
While they initially have 10 days to return to Windows 10 after a Windows 11 update, Microsoft’s built-in tool now allows them to extend it to 60 days.
This is made possible by the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool (Dism.exe) infused into all versions of Windows. To use this command to extend the roll back deadline date, users can perform the following simple steps: Open a command prompt as administrator and run the DISM tool with the correct arguments. From this command prompt, users are advised to type the command “DISM /Online/ Set-OSUninstallWindow /Value:60” while selecting any number between 1 and 60 according to the value parameter.
The help command sets a value in the Windows registry that tells the operating system to delay the rollback until the number of days the user has specified has passed. Once the value parameter is set to 60, the rollback period is extended from 10 days to 2 months.
