How Will COVID-19 Will Impact Future IT Budgets?

A recent TechRepublic Premium survey found that 43% of respondents believe that their companies would see the uncertainty of COVID-19 as a necessary factor in their IT budget plans for 2022, compared to 23% of respondents who believe that COVID-19 would not impact their IT budget for 2022.

The survey also revealed that 27% of respondents expect an increase in spending on network and internet security, while 22% forecast an increase in the budget for IT technology remotely.

The top five priorities of the IT budget for 2022, according to respondents, include improving network and internet security, cloud services, digital transformation and staff training.

The report surveyed 122 SMB decision-makers on their IT budgets for 2022 and delved into a range of topics, from how the coronavirus crisis would impact budgets for 2022, to IT priorities and initial IT budget recommendations.
