Instagram now lets users see if their posts are being blocked

Instagram will now allow creators and businesses to see if their posts are not being recommended to other users and are being blocked from the platform’s recommendation and discovery features.

Creators and businesses can see if their posts are being blocked from appearing in the app’s recommendations, such as at the bottom of Feed or Explore, or in other places where Instagram surfaces photos and videos from people they don’t follow.

Instagram users will be able to edit or delete posts that violate the platform’s policies. They will also be able to file an appeal with Instagram if they believe any content was flagged in error.

In the Instagram app, users can check the status of their account by selecting their profile, opening the menu, and then selecting: settings, account, and account status.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the company is expanding Account Status “so professional accounts can understand if their content may be eligible to be recommended to non-followers”.
