iOS 15 Feature Prevents iPhone Users From Forgetting Devices

October 4, 2021

One of the new features in Apple’s iOS 15 called Separation Alerts alerts iPhone users who have accidentally left their device behind by sending a message to other devices they own.

Although not all Apple hardware supports the new feature, Separation Alerts works not only on iPhones but also on AirTags and third-party accessories that support Apple’s Find My Network.

More information about the new feature shows that it is part of the Find My App, and to use it, the app must be launched. Once users are logged into the app, they are advised to tap on devices at the bottom, tap on a device, and click Notifications for Notify When Left Behind.

From there, users are advised to enable the feature while also paying attention to creating exclusion zones where they do not want to receive notifications, such as the home.
