U.S. food processing company JBS has become the latest victim of a cyberattack that is affecting its North American and Australian systems.

By taking immediate action, the company shut down all affected systems, notified authorities and activated the global network of IT professionals and third-party vendors to resolve the situation.

JBS said its backup services were not affected and that it had used the services of a fault reporting company to restore full operation as soon as possible, and there was no evidence that customer, supplier or employee data had been breached.

Meanwhile, the Waikato District Health Board (DHB) in New Zealand has issued an update on the ransomware attack that struck the board two weeks ago.

Waikato DHB suffered a complete breakdown of its information services as a result of the attack on 18 May and is now making progress in restoring its IT systems.

Specifically, key areas of radiotherapy, laboratory systems, imaging radiology, result viewer and IPM, the organization’s patient management system.
