Kaseya Obtains Universal Decryptor For Recent REvil Attacks

July 23, 2021

Kaseya on Thursday announced that a universal decryptor key has been obtained that will help recent victims of the REvil ransomware attack.

The company said the code was obtained from a trusted third party but gave no further details.

Dana Liedholm, the company’s senior vice president of corporate marketing, said the key was found on Wednesday and is working.

The company said: “We can confirm that Kaseya obtained the tool from a third party and have teams actively helping customers affected by the ransomware to restore their environments, with no reports of any problem or issues associated with the decryptor. Kaseya is working with Emsisoft to support our customer engagement efforts, and Emsisoft has confirmed the key is effective at unlocking victims.”
