Linux Systemd Security Bug Discovered By Qualys

Cloud security company Qualys recently discovered a new systemd security flaw that enables unprivileged users to crash a Linux system.

It works by allowing attackers to misuse the alloca() function in a way that can lead to memory corruption, causing a hacker to crash the system and the entire operating system.

Although the bug is mostly found in most distros such as Debian 10 (Buster), Ubuntu, and Mint, it should be noted that the bug has been patched by Red Hat Product Security and the developers of systemd.

Users are advised to patch their versions to keep their computers running.
