Logitech partners with iFixit to enable a ‘do-it-yourself’ repair

May 18, 2023

Logitech has partnered with iFixit, a do-it-yourself (DIY) repair specialist, to address the issue of wasteful electronic waste (e-waste) and empower users to fix out-of-warranty Logitech products. This alliance will supply replacement parts, batteries, and maintenance manuals for select Logitech products, allowing consumers to prolong the life of their gadgets.

Logitech’s MX Master and MX Anywhere mouse models will be the first to get spare parts as part of this agreement, with availability set to begin this summer. The iFixit Logitech Repair Hub will act as the core platform, allowing users to buy individual components or choose for full “Fix Kits” that contain all essential equipment and precise bit sets for the repair.

Currently, the iFixit repair hub sells Logitech items like as cameras, keyboards, headphones, Bluetooth speakers, and gaming peripherals. While some are currently placeholders, some already include detailed repair manuals, such as the battery replacement guide for the Logitech H800 Wireless, which was produced previous to the partnership with Logitech by an iFixit community member.

The collaboration with iFixit is likely to grow in the future, embracing a broader range of Logitech products. Particular price information has not yet been released, but Logitech has stated that additional devices would also receive iFixit authentic replacement parts and repair guide help, but no particular items have been revealed.
