Microsoft launches free AI training initiative

June 30, 2023

Microsoft has unveiled an AI training initiative with the goal of increasing access to AI capabilities through open coursework. The curriculum was created in collaboration with Microsoft-owned LinkedIn and will be available through LinkedIn’s training platform.

The course will initially be offered only in English and will cover foundational AI concepts as well as responsible AI frameworks. It will include machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision, as well as responsible AI frameworks. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a Career Essentials certificate.

In addition to the training, Microsoft promised an open worldwide grant competition to discover innovative methods of teaching workers on generative AI, as well as increased access to free digital learning events and tools for everyone to enhance their AI fluency.

It also intends to offer a trainer toolbox, which will include an AI course designed for educators in schools as well as trainers within enterprises. The toolkit will include lesson plans, exercises, and other materials to assist educators and trainers in efficiently teaching the program.
