Microsoft’s new policies could force users to apply for longer subscription plans to avoid the expensive monthly subscription plans that the company is about to introduce.

Microsoft recently announced that it will expand the New Commerce Experience (NCE) model to include Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Windows 365 and the Power Platform, a model that simplifies how customers can pay for the company’s products. Although the NCE terms stipulate that daily invoicing becomes monthly, the monthly subscription is 20% more expensive than the annual subscription.

There will also be plans for customers to subscribe to a 36-month, 3-year subscription, which can be billed monthly, yearly or in advance. Once a user has subscribed to the subscription, they only have 72 hours to switch to a lower plan, and when it expires, such a user will be forced to continue paying until the subscription ends. However, many customers do not seem satisfied with such a development.
