Microsoft Tasked With Fixing Activision Blizzard’s ‘Sexist’ Culture

January 21, 2022

Following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzzard, the company now faces challenges regarding the accusations of sexual harrasment and misconduct at Activision Blizzard.

According to a source, once the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard is concluded, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick will leave the company. Kotick has faced wide criticism from the media for the way he handled various complaints of sexual harassment and sexist culture in the company.

Activision Blizzard is also taking the necessary steps to rectify the issue. This includes increasing its investment in anti-harassment and anti-discrimination training.

The company fired about three dozen employees following its investigation and it made high-level personnel changes.

To improve the company’s culture towards sexual harassment, its board of directors formed a WorkPlace Responsibility Committee to oversee its progress.

A Microsoft spokesperson noted that the company is committed to inclusion and respect in gaming and is “looking forward to extending our culture of proactive inclusion to the great teams across Activision Blizzard.”
