Microsoft Teams Teases New Feature for Windows 11

November 12, 2021

Microsoft recently introduced a new feature in Windows 11 that allows users of the Teams meetings app to share content from other open apps on the taskbar of a desktop.

The tech giant’s latest update to Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22499 for the Dev Channel makes it easier to share content without interfering with the workflow of a meeting via taskbar icons.

The new team feature in Windows 11 eliminates the need to switch between applications to share, resulting in fewer interruptions during group meetings and what they see during a conversation.

This team feature builds on the mute and unmute button in teams in the taskbar.

At the time of the initial rollout, this new content sharing feature will not yet be available to all Windows 11 users, giving priority to education and business users.

To share content in teams, users must hover over the apps in the taskbar, where a new button allows users to share a window with others in a meeting.

This latest innovation is very helpful for sharing PowerPoint slides in a meeting. Best of all, this latest feature will eventually be available for other communication applications, not just for teams.
