Nadella’s Closing Windows 11 Remarks Takes A Shot At Apple

June 25, 2021 “Windows has always stood for sovereignty for creators and agency for consumers. A platform can only serve society if its rules allow for this foundational innovation and category creation.”

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella outlined his vision of Windows 11 as a “platform for platform creators,” at an event to introduce Windows 11 while sharply criticizing Apple.

Nadella bragged about the changes Microsoft is making to its App Store rules, which allow more types of apps, Android apps and, most importantly, apps to use the payment systems of their choice.

When Nadella says Windows is “a platform for platform creators,” Microsoft’s other services are some of those other platforms – which happen to work well on Windows.

Nadella’s main argument is that Windows 11 is large enough and wide enough to make room for other platforms and creators, while other platforms are not.
