NBC Announces Elon Musk Will Host ‘Saturday Night Live’

April 26, 2021 NBC announced over the weekend that Elon Musk, CEO of electric carmaker Tesla and chief engineer of space company SpaceX, will host “Saturday Night Live” on May 8.

The host’s announcement coincided with the SpaceX crew’s Dragon capsule carrying four astronauts that docked safely at the International Space Station nearly 24 hours after launch.

The capsule was used on SpaceX’s maiden mission last May, marking the first time an American capsule has been used since the Gemini program in 1965, when an unmanned spacecraft flew twice.

Musk hit the headlines earlier this year after announcing that Tesla would buy $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin and accept the cryptocurrency in future transactions with customers.

Prior to hosting Saturday Night Live, Musk also appeared on shows such as Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory. He also lent his voice to animated shows such as South Park, The Simpsons and Rick and Morty. He also made a cameo in Iron Man 2.
