Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently signed a bill that will ensure that technology companies are punished or sanctioned for deplatforming politicians.

Under the new law, which is due to take effect on July 1, technology platforms will only be able to suspend accounts for 14 days, and if the law is violated, such tech companies risk paying up to $250,000 daily.

While DeSantis argued that platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube are silencing conservative voices, the newly signed law is expected to overcome a variety of legal challenges, with many claiming that the bill not only violates Americans’ constitutional right to free speech but could also have unintended consequences.
